Woven Paintings
In the Autumn of 2022, I embarked on a process, a way of taking exhibition-ready paintings apart and reassembling them through a weaving process. This approach mirrored the world around us, which, at that time and even now, seems to be undergoing a transformation, shaped by forces beyond our control. My aim was to encapsulate this global metamorphosis in my art. This innovative method allowed me to preserve all the original elements of color, form, and line from the paintings, albeit in a fragmented, abstracted manner, leading to the creation of entirely new works. As I delve deeper into my archives, revisiting years of artwork, I notice a shift in the color palette. This progression fuels more creativity and playfulness in my weavings, each piece becoming a testament to both the past and the present, a blend of history and innovation, echoing the ever-evolving tapestry of our world.
